Apple Knockers

Servings: 12 people

Ingredients
  

  • 3 whole cinnamon sticks
  • 2 teaspoons whole cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 gallon apple cider
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 cups orange juice
  • 1/2 cup lemon juice
  • 1 cup brandy (optional) (I use Paul Masson)

Method
 

  1. Tie the cinnamon sticks, cloves and nutmeg in a cheesecloth. Simmer the cider with the spices and sugar for 15 minutes. Remove the bag of seasonings.
  2. Add the orange juice, lemon juice and brandy (if using). Heat to bubbling and serve.

Notes

If you don't like things too sweet, you may want to reduce the sugar.
