About this Recipe
I will start by saying that I’m not the biggest fan of salmon, but I really like this recipe. First of all, it’s very fast to make, and that is a major win in my book. Secondly, the honey butter makes the most delicious sauce for this salmon. I have entertained with this and made it for weeknight dinners.
Ingredients
The ingredients are salmon, olive oil, salt, pepper, honey, butter and red pepper flakes.
Recommendations
Getting the sear right is key to this recipe. Once you place the salmon in the hot pan, do not disturb it for 3-4 minutes, or until it is lightly browned, and then flip it and get the other side.
I like to set my butter out beforehand, so that it gets softened. I have melted it before, and I find that doesn’t work as well. You will probably have more honey butter than you need.
I like to serve this with sauteed brussels sprouts.
Final thoughts
We absolutely love this dish, and I think you will too!
Honey Butter Salmon
Ingredients
- 4 pieces salmon, about 6 oz. each
- olive oil for drizzling
- 3 tablespoons butter softened
- 4 tablespoons honey
- pinch red pepper flakes or more, to taste
- salt to taste
- pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 450.
- Dry the salmon and drizzle both sides with a little olive oil. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
- Use a nonstick pan, and get it hot over medium heat. Once it is hot, place the salmon, skin side up, and leave it undisturbed for 3-4 minutes, or until it is golden brown. Flip the salmon over carefully and cook for an additional minute.
- Transfer the salmon to a baking sheet covered in foil and sprayed with cooking spray.
- Bake the salmon for 6-8 minutes or until done to your liking.
Honey Butter
- Mix together the honey, butter and red pepper flakes. Once the salmon is done, remove it from the oven and brush the butter on each piece of salmon. You might have extra butter.
