My Thoughts on this Recipe
I have been making these amazing Peanut Butter Monster Cookies ever since my aunt Jennifer whipped them up one summer’s day at my grandparents’ house at least 20 years ago. They are peanut buttery, chewy and hearty. They also don’t have any flour in them, only oats. We absolutely love these cookies, and if I take them somewhere, I am usually asked for the recipe. You should try these!
Ingredients
The main ingredients are peanut butter, butter, white and brown sugars, vanilla, oats, baking soda, eggs, mini M&Ms and mini chocolate chips.
Recommendations
These cookies are simple to make. You’ll want to follow the directions as-written, and I also recommend that you freeze any leftover dough if you are not baking all of the cookies.
I find it helpful to leave the baked cookies on the cookie sheet for 2-3 minutes for them to set, and then move them to a cooling rack.
I store my cookies in a ziplock plastic bag, and they keep well for several days without drying out.

Peanut Butter Monster Cookies
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups smooth peanut butter
- 1/2 cup butter softened
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 3 eggs large
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 4 1/2 cups quick-cooking oats
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 cup miniature M&M candies
- 1 cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
- In your mixer, cream peanut butter, butter, brown and white sugar until light in color. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each. Add vanilla.
- In a separate bowl, combine the oats and baking soda. Then, gradually add them to the creamed mixture.
- Add in the M&Ms and chocolate chips, stirring until just mixed.
- Drop by medium cookie scoops onto ungreased baking sheet. Bake for 12-14 minutes or until golden brown.
- You can also freeze this dough by placing cookie scoops on a cookie sheet, freezing them and then placing them in a plastic bag.
