My Thoughts on this Recipe
I have loved this Down-East Maine Pumpkin Bread ever since I started making it many years ago. I’m not the only one either; there are over 7,000 4.8 star reviews on this recipe! I like it because it is moist, sweet, full of pumpkin spice flavor, and it doesn’t have any nuts in it (although I’m sure you could add them if that’s what you like). If you are a pumpkin bread fan, you must try this!
Ingredients
The main ingredients are pumpkin puree, eggs, vegetable oil, water, sugar, flour, salt, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and cloves. View the full recipe here.
Recommendations
This recipe makes either (three large loaves) or (one large loaf and four mini loaves). I usually make the mini loaves with the full size loaf, and this is the mini loaf pan I use. Personally, I love the mini loaves because they freeze perfectly and then you don’t have to eat so much in a short period of time. The mini loaves take 30-35 minutes to bake.
This recipe couldn’t be easier to put together. I usually use a mixer because I think it is simpler and things get better mixed, but you do not want to over-mix it if you do this. Just mix until the dough comes together.
Future Ideas/Variations
I don’t think I would change anything about this recipe necessarily, but as I mentioned before, you could add nuts if that’s to your liking.
Final thoughts
These Pumpkin Bread Loaves are delicious, and you should definitely give them a try next time you are wanting some pumpkin spice in your life!
